Daniel is a senior at Pomona College majoring in International Relations. He is thrilled to serve as Secretary-General for the third annual SageMUN conference! Daniel has been active in Model UN since high school, and has participated in sixteen MUN conferences around the world. Of those, he held a chair or crisis director position for eight. Beyond MUN, Daniel also involves himself in Pomona’s student senate, Jewish and Asian American affiliation groups, and politics and philosophy-related discussion groups. In his spare time, Daniel enjoys spending time in the outdoors, reading comics, catching up with world politics and news, and spending time with his dog. After months of hard work with other members of the Pomona College team, Daniel looks forward to seeing delegates engage in spirited debate and lively collaboration at SageMUN III!
Samhita Kadiyala is a sophomore at Scripps majoring in Economics and Public Health, with a minor in Religious Studies. She joined the Model UN team at Pomona last year, after having competed in Speech and Debate in high school. As a pre-medical student, Samhita is passionate about food justice, health equity, and STEM education, and she spends some of her time volunteering as a science teacher at a local elementary school. When she’s not studying Organic Chemistry, you can find her singing, dancing, or binge-watching Suits.
Sam is a First Year at Pomona College planning to major in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. While it is his first year on the team, Sam is very excited with his role in the conference and looks forward to fostering an incredible environment for delegates. This will be Sam’s third conference hosted or attended this academic year. Outside of MUN, Sam is a Sparkalete, a racquetball aficionado, and member of Jewish groups on campus. Outside of school, Sam is an avid Lakers and Seahawks fan, an active supporter of a Jewish charitable group supporting refugees in East Africa, and a vocal opposer of the Second Amendment.
Skye is a sophomore at Pomona College majoring in politics and philosophy. He has been involved in Model UN since his freshman year of high school, and is currently the Secretary-General of Pomona’s competitive team. A native of New Hampshire, Skye is happy missing a few ski days to be able to study in sunny Claremont. When he’s not studying you can find him playing soccer or clarinet, rock climbing in the surrounding area, staying up habitually late, or just reading a book. This year’s crisis committee is a true project of passion for Skye. He hopes that SageMUN delegates will immerse themselves in the world he and the crisis team have worked hard to create; it may take place in future, but the questions of political society, ethics, and human nature they will engage with are age-old!
